Chromecast Video with Google TV

I can get my Chromecast with Google TV to show up as a device using Chromecast integration, but is there any way to use it in rules? I want to be able to turn some lights on when the TV turns to YoutubeTV, netflix, etc. Used to be able to do this with the Harmony activities integration.

You could try setting your trigger to a specific status value from your Chromecast device:

You might have to try a few options to see if one actually works and meets your needs.

How did you manage to get status changes? My NVIDIA Shield does not get the status updates apart from "idle" :frowning: It will either not have status, or get idle status forever, no matter if something is playing...
