Chromecast audio not talking everytime

Can anyone tell me if there is something you need to do to the chromecast audio devices to get them to talk each time you send them something. I can send them a test speech and they work fine, but the next time you send them something with a rule they sound a tone but there is no speech following it.

Also I have tried the setting for the tts delay but it says the word 'wait' before it says the actual text, no good.

Any help appreciated. thanks

I had/have the same problem. I've tried going to the G Home app and clicking "Play Music" under each device. Seems to set it right to respond to TTS.

My two are dropping out after a few hours. This is likely the problem, so I need to figure out how to do DHCP Reservations
