2 years ago I wasnt into SmartHome stuff yet and I bought a Kwikset Pushbutton Deadbolt that was not Zwave or Zigbee. Later I regretted it and ended up buying a Zwave one and put the pushbutton lock on my garage door.
Forget how but I found out that you can get the Zwave module for a non-smart Kwikset lock on Ebay for like $45-$55 (only get the blue one marked as Z-WavePlus!!!) Pop it in the empty slot and it works great!
So on Amazon right now:
KwikSet 913 non-smart = $90 + $50 for card = $140
KwikSet 914 Zwave = $162
only get the blue one marked as Z-WavePlus!!!
only get the zigbee!!!
Lol. Just messing with ya. I do have the control4, zwave regular, zwave plus, and zigbee Kwikset modules in my drawer though. I used them all at one point - all zigbee now in my running locks.
Well... Maybe I tossed the control4 module, can't remember. I know I have the others though.
