Let's see if the electrician can do something about this. TBH, for me the hum would be even less desirable than having a bright light. And if that's the case, I may just leave this alone. My reason to do this was for vacation lighting. Until now, I just bring in table lamps with a couple of smart bulbs.
If it worked perfectly fine on the old dimmer, I would think you should be able to get the same results with a smart dimmer one way or another.
I don't know for a fact for this particular location, but I am quite certain that he did the rewiring in some places. I know he did a lot of work around the house: changed the windows and doors, a complete kitchen remodel etc... (We've been in the house for 25+ years.)
They only hum when dimmed.
Thought I'd circle back to thread with an update. I decided to go with the suggestion from @rlithgow1 and switched to a Caseta dimmer.
Unfortunately, I am not done yet Even though he had mentioned that the PRO2 bridge integrates with Hubitat, I missed paying attention to that and ended up getting just the regular Lutron bridge
So, at the moment I don't have Hubitat integration, but I will keep an eye out for a PRO2 bridge.
As @jtp10181 suggested, it's quite possible that I had messed up the wiring when hooking up the Enbrighten/Jasco switch. Nevertheless, the new dimmer works great with the lights and I feel that the transition when dimming is smoother than it was with the original (Lutron) dimmer. The 'Smart Away' automation that the Lutron app provides will do until I get the bridge issue sorted out.
I really appreciate the prompt assistance with my inquiry!
I noticed some of the GE's needed a little more load... My fixture had 4 candelabra LED bulbs. I swapped one of LEDs with an incandescent to add a bit of load and that stopped the flickering.
