Caseta transition options - more info?

Hoping for some clarification about these two Caseta transition options... Are they related (do they stack), or are they independent/different (if so, in what specific way)...

These are only options for the dimmers (PD5-NE in my case), I notice neither is an option for the plain (on/off) switches. TIA!

I think it might set the dimming ramp rate. With two separate options when turning on from off state or dimming up/down when already on?

Whether or not it definitely works for Caseta dimmers (vs. RadioRA 2 dimmers), I’m not sure.

The turn on transition time applies strictly to turning on, i.e. using the on() command.

The transition time applies to:

  1. Turning off
  2. Changes in level
  3. Even changes in level from 0 going higher, i.e. turning on using setLevel()

I can verify that it does. AFAIK, only flash() doesn't work for Caséta dimmers/switches.

Perfect -- thank you both for your help!

Flash does indeed work with Caseta switches/dimmers

Oh...so I can set the "dimmer" time to 0 and basically make it work like a switch?

Has anyone tested this with a new Caseta Diva dimmer switch?

Not available yet. At least where I live.

No, it does not make a Caséta dimmer into a switch.

That setting only indicates that Hubitat isn’t adding any additional setLevel() commands (over time) when the switch is turned off, over and above what is built into the hardware already.

Out of curiosity, what do you use for these values?

I'm sure I just left the "Turn on trans time" at 1 sec since that's indicated as the default, but I can't remember if the plain "Trans time" was something I intentionally selected as 1 or if that was also a default I just left as-is.

Thanks!

I mean to be honest, the ramp up on the dimmers is pretty quick (at least for me)
