Car block heater timer with Dashboard access

Hi all!

Trying to solve following problem:

I have a Zigbee plug that I use to turn on my car block heater each morning. I would like to automate that in a way that it would turn on every morning at 5:30. This is quite easy to do with rule machine.

Problem comes with following step. I'd like that I would have possibility to change the plug turn on time from Dashboard. For example, if one morning I'm leaving 3 hours later, the plug would turn on also 3 hours later.

In best case the timer would always reset back to 5:30 start time after plug turns off, so if I'm leaving at normal time in the following day, my car would still be warm early in the morning even if I don't remember to reset it manually.

Thanks for your input in advance!

To do this, I would setup a “Time” hub variable that contains the 5:30 time.

The rule should be setup to trigger based on the time in the variable.

A dashboard could be setup with the variable on it, and it could be changed there.

A second rule could be setup which would reset the time to 5:30 every morning at 1am.

Would you need help in setting these things up?
