Just like to point out, They better not be using any open source code in their product, or they would be in breach of the most commonly used open source licenses by not releasing their code+updates. Anyway, it's just got me a little curious.

I’m neither a software developer nor a lawyer. But from what I have gathered reading threads in this forum, they have every right to re-use open source code as long as they follow the rules (like everyone else). I won’t pretend to know what those rules are.

But that’s not really relevant to the discussion in this thread from six months ago. The OP appeared to expect to be able to inspect the Hubitat source code himself. Presumably all of it. It’s an unreasonable expectation for software that is not open source.

At this point the OP who brought this up hasn't posted in this thread since Jan 4th. I think @bobbyD should just go ahead and close it since it's been talked to death and partially off the rails.

I agree. I always had the impression that Hubitat was an open source project. Since it isn't, there's not much else I can do.
