Cant include any Z-wave Devices since the latest update

I have 5 Zooz Zen 23 v4 switches, 3 fibaro water sensors that all stopped working after 2.2.4 updates. I cannot get them repaired no matter what I do!

I have excluded and included over and over and they just constantly freeze at "initializing". The log shows they are just stuck in Z-wave discovery.

I've tried all the different security options to no avail.

I am about to rip these dang switched out of the wall!!!

Anyone help on this?

You didn't mention which hub you have, but assuming it is the C7, make sure you have updated the z wave firmware.

You don't explain why you excluded these, but i can give some advice on the inclusion process from my experiences:

  1. If you haven't already, shutdown the hub, unplug, wait a few minutes, and power back on.

  2. Work on 1 device at a time

  3. If you don't need security, uncheck all the security options

  4. Be patient - i have had some devices take several minutes (especially with S2) from the time the initial inclusion finds the device and "initializing" appears until the hub completes the setup. This all happens in the background and there is not much logging, but it will usually complete.

  5. If all else fails, contact zooz support (for the zooz devices) or Hubitat sorry 5 by email or website.

Following this as it sounds similar to my situation which seems to have no resolution. Any luck yet?

My Z-Wave devices just about all stopped working when they had been fine until firmware started updating. After resets and plenty of other work that seems extremely unnecessary, excluding and including to get them back is not getting me anywhere.

I'm convinced something is up with these firmware updates that has not be addressed. I am new to Hubitat, but have been using various Z-Wave controllers for years and have never had a problem like this, and I know it can't be all my devices and it is not my mesh.

I'm new to Hubitat also, from SmartThings.

This just started with the multiple 2.2.4.xxx updates.

I'm on a C-7 hub and these issues are all with Zooz Zen23 v4 Switches.

I have tried the shutdowns, resets, power offs and none of them have helped. I've unchecked all security boxes when trying to include (but I rarely make it to that point). I've let devices in the "initializing" state sit for 20-30 minutes but they never move past it.

I do not think this is a Zooz issue at all, these switches were working fine before the updates.

Sounds very similar. I was on SmartThings for a long time and initially switched to the C7 without much issue. Was on the 2.2.3.148 firmware from day one (Sept 2020), and the issues started as soon as the firmware updates started rolling out in mid Nov 2020.

While I do have some Zooz stuff not working, I won't blame them either, since I also have GE, Aeotec, GoControl, Nortek, Dome, etc that won't come back despite following steps like seem to be trying, too.
