Can't get RGB bulb start colour working

Its been a low priority issue, but now I would like success. No matter what colour I specify for my colour bulb to be when turned on, its starts with the last colour it was displaying before it was turned off! It will then transition to the colour I specified over a period of 1 second. I would have thought it would be possible to nominate a colour for the bulb immediately it illuminates, almost like a 'staging or pre-emptive' colour with zero dimming level. Then, once dimming is set to a non-zero number it would behave with the colour requested. Any ideas, or am I too fussy.

Thanks for any input into this issue.

I think this all comes down to whether your bulbs are capable of pre-staging colour. I don't know which bulbs can or can't.

What is the exact bulb model number, and what driver (type) is it using? Screenshots of your settings for the bulb preferences also would be helpful.

It is almost impossible for someone to give you advice without knowing this basic information. Some bulbs can do what you are asking, others cannot.

I am running this bulb on a C7, 2.5.0.159,. Its a Phillips Hue RGB Colour bulb but have discarded the packaging long ago. The specs in the Devices info says it is a Signify LCA006. its using the driver "Advanced Zigbee RGBW Bulb".

This bulb is replacing an almost exact earlier bulb, which behaved the same. So I think malfunction isn't involved, unless sheer coincidence.

I am not sure this driver will work, but you might try it...

Sorry for the gap in correspondence, I've had a death in the near family.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think you're onto the solution, dependant on version and firmware.

As soon as things settle here I will continue down the verification path and let the world know of the results.
