Can't connect with any z-wave device

I'm unable to connect to any z-wave device with my C-5 Elevation running 2.1.5.123. This is a new hub which connects fine with my Rachio irrigation controller and my phone but no Z-wave devices. I Have a Aeotec Z-stick Gen5 that my switches include and exclude with just fine. Z-Wave status is enabled but it seems to be behaving as if the radio is off. Power cycles have been ineffective. Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you mean the Z-Stick is connected to your hub (and not just a random, different one guy happen to have)? If so, you need to use Hubitat's UI to include Z-Wave devices, otherwise the radio will know about them but the hub database won't, so you won't see anything. The "Discover Devices" menu item from the three-dots menu in the upper right is one way to get there.

Could that be the problem? Or were you you trying with the internal radio on a C5 hub?

Trying with the internal radio on the hub. The Z-Stick was purchased in an effort to figure out what in the world was going on by ensuring my devices could actually pair with something. I'm just now getting around to replacing my Iris Hub so wasn't sure if it was an exclusion issue or what. However, I can include and exclude any of my Hubitat compatible switches (4) with the Z-stick but get nothing with the hub. Also, the c-5 model doesn't have a usb port so I can't use the z-stick radio instead of the internal one. I really am beginning to think I have a defective radio but would like some concrete way to determine if it's broadcasting.

On a rare occasion the Zwave radio will lock up on the C-5 hubs (especially when trying to pair a bunch of devices)

If this is your case, the solution is to go into settings and click Hub Shutdown (NOT reboot) when the hub light turns red. Pull the power cable for 30 seconds, then plug back in. This power cycles the zwave radio, at which a reboot does not do.

It may work for your situation it may not but it won't hurt to try.

You could use a USB OTG cable like this to both power the hub and use the USB Z-Wave stick from the same port. If a USB Z-Wave radio is present, the C5 hub will prefer that over the internal radio.

That being said, it sounds like something might be wrong with your internal radio. The above advice is certainly good. If you don't have any devices paired (or automations configured, etc.), you might also try a soft or full reset of your hub (soft reset procedure is documented; I'm not sure if full is). If nothing else, you might need to involve official Support for this--certainly seems like you've tried reasonable troubleshooting.

Thanks, I didn't know sharing the port was possible and have a cable on the way.
I've already tried the soft reset but will investigate the hard reset this evening. Thanks again.

To be clear, I don't think you should need to use the external radio. (Personally, I actually like it since I can back up the Z-Stick, and Hubitat currently has no such capabilities, but that's a different issue.) If your hub isn't working and you've tried reasonable troubleshooting, as it seems you have, reaching out to official Suport via e-mail might be best. A full reset won't be terrible if you don't have much on Hubitat, so I suppose you could try that as well.

Also, I assume you're in the US (or most/all North American countries) nd your Z-Stick and Z-Wave devices are also marketed for the US or compatible regions? If you're in a country that uses a different Z-Wave frequency, your Hubitat (if you ordered the one for that region) should have come with an external stick, as the internal radio us 908.4 MHz only (the North American frequency).
