Moving back to 2.3.8.140, I can now connect to hidden SSID...
tried, 4 times, --> moved to 2.3.9.150, no hidden SSID connection, back to 2.3.8.140..
same results, 2.3.9.150 will NOT connect to a hidden SSID on my network.
Hidden SSIDs are problematic in this way with many devices.
Hidden SSIDs have long been debunked as a red herring in terms of improving security -- what reason do you have for hiding the SSID? You don't have to answer that -- it's just food for thought. Jeff's idea below is a good one.
If you un-hide the SSID, connect it, and then hide it again and reboot the hub will it stay connected or does it refuse to connect to the hidden SSID even if it already knows about it?
The issue is not whether I should use a hidden SSID or not, it's that something that was working has changed in migrating to 2.3.9.150....
I'm well aware of SSID and WiFi security issues, I run IT for a very large telecom firm and have hundreds of WiFi devices deployed.... Security is always a top issue!
Thank you...
I was not questioning your reasoning, I was asking a question to understand what the problem is exactly. So... can you answer this?
