I need some help. I can't access my C8 hub. I had a notice "Can't access cloud". So I tried rebooting nothing, still can't access. Next unplugged waited 2 minutes, nothing. Finally a soft reset, still can't access. Starts loading but nothing, just hangs.
I just connected on my computer. Can access hub but not on phone.Same alert no cloud.
First, a suggestion: Soft Reset doesn't fix network connectivity issues. Doing so is just time consuming and adds to your frustration.
For network connectivity issues, first I would try to access the hub from the mobile browser directly (not within Hubitat Mobile app). If that doesn't work, then make sure your mobile device is connected to the same network (segment) as the hub. If the hub is not connected to the cloud, make sure that nothing is preventing the hub to access the internet. Things you could try: reboot router, reboot hub, reset hub's network settings, set the hub's time from browser.
Are you saying that you can connect to the hub on your PC with a web browser, but you can’t connect using your phone’s mobile app?
What exactly are you doing to access the hub on a PC? Are you typing an address into a web browser? What address?
Just got it back. The hub somehow lost the static IP address. Been having outages from my ISP. Re-entered the IP address reset DNS and rebooted and I'm up and running.
Sorry for the entry, I should have checked more thoroughly.
That would’ve been my first guess.
The best way to avoid issues with changing IP addresses is generally to set a DHCP reservation in your router’s settings menu, and to leave Hubitat’s network settings in the default DHCP mode.
So what you're saying is:
Set a up reservation on my router for the hub.
I now have a reserved IP on my router.
Set Hub DHCP to default, no IP address
When I just restarted the hub it hit the Switch to DHCP Now was that correct?
In settings under Switch to Static IP it still shows an IP address.
Yes probably. On the hub’s network settings page, it will tell you if it’s using DHCP.
One other way to be certain is to use the network reset button hidden on the underside of the hub. Pushing that with a pen for at least seven seconds will reboot the hub and ensure it gets an IP address with DHCP.
There’s an image of the button in the hub documentation article on network setup.
Reset the hub. Thanks for all your help!
