Hi,
My hubitat cannot seem to discover my Osram bulbs. I have ensured the zigbee stick is enabled and I have even tried different channels. The Osram bulbs are also brand new and unpaired. I tried resetting them to see if that would do anything (they blink once), still doesn't work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Mine just scanned a "Generic Zigbee Bulb" then I renamed them. The Hubitat found them straight away.
Check your Zigbee setting and make sure the radio is on. I am using Channel 15.
Try a different USB socket for the Zigbee/Z-wave USB stick?
Thanks for the info. I'll give it a go and see and it works.
Are these bulbs your first zigbee devices you are trying to pair with your Hubitat hub? If so, you should make sure to have the bulbs and hub in the same room for the initial pairing.
Until you have a pretty solid Zigbee mesh network within your house, it is easiest to get devices paired if they are close to the HE hub.
I ended up swapping the z wave stick with the zigbee stick, then bringing the lamp right up to the hub and it worked! Although it didnt come up as 'Generic ZIgbee Bulb', instead it was called 'Device 3648. Thankfully I changed it what it was and it worked. Thanks!
Now I have a new problem! Alexa cant find the light that I discovered after adding it to the app. Any ideas?
Sounds like you're not in the USA, correct? Hubitat has a new Alexa Skill, but it currently only work in the USA. They are awaiting approval from Amazon to make it available in other countries. Best to take a look through the numerous Alexa threads here in the community to get up to speed. You can also contact support at support@hubitat.com.
Or just open a US account with no credit card. If you use it in English, youâre not shopping by voice or using the âAlexa, whereâs my stuffâ feature, then you donât lose any benefits, and you gain several.
That would be correct. I currently reside in Australia. That is a shame! I was looking forward to doing this all with my Echo. Hopefully something comes out soon.
Ill give this a go and see if it works!
Hopefully it works, but Iâm in Canada, so the servers I connect to are US based regardless. Might not be the same for you, as I know Amazon has gone to extra lengths to limit Australian content unfortunately.
Just use a US account it is far easier. They can shove their limited Australian rubbish.
What driver are people choosing for these tuneable-white bulbs? When I paired it (moved from ST where it was working fine) HE just chose 'Device'.
I see a 'Generic Zigbee Bulb' but that doesn't allow the colour temperature to be changed. And Generic Zigbee Bulb RGB and RGBW offer hue changes which this doesn't support.
To be clear I'm using the Osram Lightly A19 Led Tuneable White (model AA70155).
You can use the 'Generic Zigbee CT Bulb (dev)' driver; it supports color temperature.
Thanks. Is there a reason that itâs marked as dev(elopment) that you know of?
The RGBW driver does work but my OCD doesnât like the fact it shows hue values that arenât supported. It also works OK in the actual Alexa app on iOS, other than that selecting the âwarm whiteâ colour option results in âdevice not respondingâ. Tapping any other temperature colour works, as does asking for temperature 3000 etc. Perhaps Alexaâs Warm White is just too low a kelvin value for the bulb.
I don't know. AFAIK it hasn't changed in a while; it has been working fine for me.
