I started a z-wave repair on my system because I have a Dome valve that doesn't seem to want to stay connected. I had re-included it a few nights ago unaware that it had disconnected again. When it got to the valve the repair stopped there and went no further. I selected Cancel z-wave repair but it is still running and has not stopped.
What do you have to do here to get it to stop. I do not want to corrupt the hub by rebooting or something. thanks
But the repair is running ok or is frozen? You can reboot your hub on the settings page, that will not cause problems, the hub will create a backup before the reboot.
The repair is frozen. Stopped at that device. I will go ahead and reboot. I still wonder why it is frozen though.
EDIT: I did a reboot so now I wonder why doesn't HE tell you when the reboot is finished? Just says Hub Rebooting!
I'm pretty sure it gives you a message to refresh the page after a minute or so?
Been over 5 min. and it still says Hub rebooting. Don't see any message for refresh.
Sorry I meant the instructions for a reboot say to refresh after a bit. When I refresh before the reboot is done it will go to a loading page
Ok thanks, I understand, but it should at least clear the text that says Hub rebooting when it is back online.
What happens when you refresh?
The text at the top goes away as you said so I guess one will have to do it manually. thanks
That explains it. Where is this information located? Is it in the wiki?
Yes documentation, link is at the top of the forum main page
Ok, thanks. Found it in Care and Maintenance. Now I just need to know why it didn't cancel the repair.
Before doing a Z-wave repair. I usually go into the Z-wave info page and look at all my Z-wave repeater devices and if under "last received" column is blank. I will try to repair that device first before doing a Z-wave repair otherwise it will hang or do other weird thing.
You should see most of the repeaters reply back within a couple of hours or less after a reboot with a time stamped under "last received" column.
Thanks. That area is new to me. I was looking at that just a few min. ago after selecting the z-wave box and saw all the devices. The time stamp for last received showed the 26th so that is where (now I know) the problem is at. So fixing that first then running repair should work. I will try to get the device back online and try again. That is a great tip.
Just in case I am sending you in the wrong path. Go into the device and hit refresh or physically press on/off on the device first and see if it sent a reply back to the hub in the "last received".
You are good. It is not responding because it is offline. The blue light on it that is blinking indicates it has lost connection to the hub. Maybe distance. Never disconnected on me in HS. May have to move it back. I have a couple devices coming that are z-wave plus repeaters so I will put one of them in between and see first.
