What is the best way to cancel the action of this rule, if the switch state changes to off? The example I want the rule to stop if the light is switched off digital or physical before the defined time.
The best way is a motion sensor, but you can use this timeout method. You just need to add a Triggered Rule to stop actions of this Trigger when the Kitchen light = off

That would be a completely separate rule. Correct?
You could accomplish that with a simple rule.
Condition: light is on
Action: delay 30 mins (cancel with truth change),Turn off, Notify
