Hi everyone,
I’m running a Hubitat Elevation C-8 Pro with the built-in HomeKit Bridge app, connected to my HomePod mini as my Apple Home hub. Everything on the Hubitat side is working great — my Zigbee lights, plugs, and sensors all show up and respond perfectly in the Apple Home app through the bridge integration.
However, I’m trying to understand how AirPlay-enabled devices (like my HomePods, AirPlay 2 speakers, or compatible TVs) fit into this ecosystem.
Specifically:
- Can AirPlay devices be discovered and shown inside Apple Home when using Hubitat’s HomeKit Bridge?
- If not, is there a way to make them visible to the Apple Home app through Hubitat, or do they only appear directly via Apple’s own HomeKit integration?
- My goal is to have all smart devices — lighting, plugs, sensors, and audio (AirPlay) — visible and manageable from the Apple Home interface while maintaining local control through the Hubitat C-8 Pro.
Right now, Hubitat devices appear fine in Apple Home, but the AirPlay speakers don’t show up unless I add them separately in Apple Home. I’d like to confirm whether this is expected behavior or if there’s a configuration step I’ve missed.
Thanks in advance for any insight or examples from others using a similar Hubitat C-8 Pro + HomePod mini setup!
