You can plug in the hub but I found it easier just to have it one those cell phone battery packs and a micro-USB cable. Plugging it in does work just as well.

You can but you need to do a clean shutdown from the settings menu first (wait till light turns red) before unplugging it to prevent database corruption
That is another reason why the cell phone backup power supplies are good.
I have a job that requires replacing a Homeseer hub with a Hubitat in an ALL Z-wave environment. I have my backup and 100 foot ethernet cable ready!!!
I will slay all the ghosts!
