Can not add Aeotec Multi sensor (zigbee) to C7 hub

When I “add device” , it is immediately found, but the Initializing gets stuck and times out. I have tried everything, many times…

  • powering off hub , waiting 30 sec and retry
  • added the device with no issues to my C8 pro hub (then removed and reset)
  • am not using any zigbee repeaters and an literally beside hub
  • I have factory reset the sensor over 20 times now
  • I can add the device when selecting the smart things v 4 device, but nothing works (this is a version 5)
  • I am on the most current version: 2.5.0.159

I found a video that made reference to try and "pair while exchanging keys in clear", but this option does not appear on the C7 hub (but odes on the C8 Pro). There has been posts regarding some versions having issues, but those posts are over a year ago.

Very very frustrating… and I don’t want to have to upgrade the C7 for this reason alone. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks Mark

If the device is this one :

it is possible that it will not work with Zigbee coordinators that do not support Zigbee 3.0

Also, some old Samsung (Samjin) Zigbee devices had problems working on channel 25, although I don't think this could be the problem here, the Zigbee stack on the latest Samjin devices is very different.
