I have 2 HE hubs . They are linked using Hub Link. The slave has Echo Speaks running on it. I'm trying to 'speak' to the Echo devices through the slave from the master. I have the Echo devices shown on the master device list but when I write a rule on the master to speak I don't get the option to select any Echo device.
If this isn't supported, how else might I do this.?
I installed Echo Speaks on the master but the load was too much for the HUB so I bought another one.
Do you have the speech synthesis driver installed for the Master in Hubconnect? I have some echos on my ST hub and some on my HE. Only the ones connected to my HE show up as music devices, but all show up as speech devices.
Ok you have made me think about this some more. The issue appears to be I can't select to share the Echo devices on the slave as the correct device type. I'm guessing this means it's not supported. Would HubConnect work here?
Sorry, you did say you were using hublink and I read it as HubConnect. Yes, HubConnect should work for you with 2 HE since it works for me with one HE and one ST. Just make sure to add all of the HC device drivers before selecting the devices to share. The directions are very good and there are even videos that @csteele made to help people get it up and running.
A 2nd hint is to help understand where the Universal drivers get installed:
Imagine you have a real dimmer or switch. It's mounted in the wall, replacing what was there before. You Join it to a Hub and it's given a 'real driver' on that hub. The OTHER HUB gets the Universal Driver.
Truely outstanding..... code / documentation / implementation: Echo Speaks perfectly.
One little issue, on the slave I am running Netatamo weather station, I can see 2 of the modules indoor & Outdoor but there is no sign of the Rain and Wind modules. Am I missing something? They don't get listed as an option in Huninstance on the slave.
You should probably copy this over to the HubConnect thread. Csteele and srwhite monitor that thread for questions pertaining to HubConnect. Iām sure someone there will be able to assist you.
I moved Echo Speaks off of my HE hub and installed instead on my ST hub to try and keep all of my devices needing the cloud off the HE hub. I was able to do it successfully and get them sync'd to HE. All of the devices come thru using the Hubconnect AVR driver. However, that doesn't allow for using speech synthesis. I tried the other 2 device type options, Speech Synthesis & Speakers, to see what options are available. Are their guidelines on when to use what device driver?
