Can hubitat detect all standard tuya zigbee devices? Even if incompatible or no driver for it

I was wondering....
can any zigbee device, specially tuya ones, be detected and "added' in hubitat?

I know there are lots of devices that arent compatible, or no drivers for, in hubitat.... but since zigbee is a standard, can hubitat at least detect and add them to itself?

I ask coz I have a zigbee device (curtain motor) that the seller kept insisting will only work for their zigbee tuya hub (he's forcing me to buy it).

I got the device with me already, and i tried adding it, no bueno. Hubitat can't even detect it.

So im not sure if im doing the enrollment sequence on the device wrong, or tuya has some non-standard zigbee thing with their hubs that doesnt talk with hubitat. is that possible even?

This is the device btw

If you put the hub and the device into pairing mode the hub should be able to add any device using a standard zigbee protocol. If there isn’t a matching driver normally it will be added using the generic Device driver which will let you get its fingerprint and some generic information, but not control it.

Normally @kkossev will be your go to for Tuya.

yah that's what i thought.... at least the device should be detected and show up as generic zigbee.

I hope you can take a look at this..

my curtain motor is

Sold to me under WC-PJ220 (Moes brand) curtain motor

but the sticker on the motor itself shows

Carefully review how to start the pairing process; many motors based on the Tuya platform have quite complicated pairing procedures. Additionally, the provided manual is often incorrect and poorly written in English.

Moes is just a trade brand/label, the reseller that you purchased the product from may be another company or an individual.

The manufacturer of this device is most probably another company or a small factory.

The developer of the firmware inside the device is most often another small company or individual, that is not an employee of the factory or of the seller. Typically the developer work on contract and do not provide firmware updates later on.

Tuya is just the IoT platform on which this gadget was built.

No one of the four or five (or even more) parties involved in the process has full control over the product….

It is better to avoid purchasing gadgets built on the Tuya platform when you can…

crap... and i bought 8 of these already for the house haha.

ill go and review the pairing process.. but are you saying or confirm that hubitat should at least be able to detect it? At least that confirms if im doing the pairing process correctly or not.

Furthermore, if i do get this to pair, would you happen to have a driver that may work with this?

It's a great writeup of some of the Tuya eccentricities.
