My c8 pro zwave was working fine until I decided to swith to zwave js. I'm on platform vs 2.4.1.177.
Before switching, I had a little over 40 zwave devices paired and the mesh was pretty strong and highly responsive and fast. Reading about zwave js, I switched to it. Prior to that, the zwave topology was blue majority (more than 90%)..and it was all good. But immediately after switching to js, all the paired devices became unresponsive. I checked the zwave topology and it was all red. The few devices that would respond would take minutes after turning them on or off. I decided to switch back to the standard zwave stack and nothing changed... Then I saw a zwave firmware update available option, tried to update the firmware, no luck, even the firmware will not update, stuck on "Getting device versions" and nothing happens.
I have tried soft resetting the hub and restoring my old backup, no luck.
Now what I see is that when I open the zwave menu, I see no devices installed there, but when I go to devices, I see the zwave paired devices still showing there.
I'm stuck at this stage. I've tried re-pairing all the devices, excluding them don't work, including them don't also work.
@rob9
Actually that's one of the things I did, twice.. But no luck..
I shutdown the hub, waited for confirmation on the platform that t it's safe to turn off of hub, unplugged the power cable for between approx 1min to 2mins, and plugged baxk in and no luck
That is normal, the mesh has to get re-established when you first switch to JS
That should only show up if you are still on Zwave JS
Did you by chance restore a cloud backup including the zwave radio?
Please stop trying to include and exclude devices you are probably just making it worse and lessen the chance for recovery. Hopefully you did not factory reset any devices.
First be sure you are back on ZIP by checking the button on the zwave details page (should have option to switch to Zwave JS).
You can verify with this endpoint (may not work when radio is offline though)
Use in your browser with the IP for your hub. http://HUB.IP/hub/zwave2/status
Should say false when run
Then run this endpoint to force the ZIP Gateway install http://HUB.IP/hub/advanced/installZipgateway718
It may spin/stall for a few minutes if its not already installed (If it immediately tells you it is already installed this may not fix the problem). Wait for it to finish and then run it again until it tells you it is already installed. Once done shut down the hub and unplug for 30 seconds, then plug back in.
Bummer, I am assuming you already tried doing the shut down and pulling power afterwards and the radio is still dead?
In that case, unfortunately, either the switching back and forth or possibly the radio restore that you did got the radio into a bad state. I would do a warranty ticket. Warranty – Hubitat Support
Thanks a lot for the timely support @jtp10181 , I guess this is where the road ends for my C8 Pro as you've put it subtly. I will contact Hubitat Support for Warranty as advised and see where it gets me. Cheers
