I understand that the message might be spurious. (I've clicked the Dismiss link but it does nothing.)
For grins, I did a Zigbee channel scan, which shows nothing!
What am I missing? Is it actually worth changing the channel?
(I have exactly 2 Aeotek leak detectors. They are 10 and 20 feet away from the hub, though there's ductwork in the way for the first and a fridge for the second. They do seem to be communicating just fine.)
The coordinators on Channel 15 & 20 are mine, with 20 being the C-8 Pro. Both signal and LQI values are excellent. So the message about channel 20 is spurious.
The coordinator on Channel 25 is one of my neighbors.
Refreshing the page never gets me any info at all, which is confusing. (Refreshing the page in Brave or Firefox gives the same behavior. It has the appearance of starting a fresh scan each time.")
Just checked for giggles as I've move channels 4 times in the past year trying to resolve ZB issues.
Finally alone on ch 20 and happy but what is the RSSI actually derived from?
If it was a device I could see it measuring Rx level but it's the Tx device itself.
Is it considering the noise floor in the calculation?
I still get nothing but zeros on my channel scan, no matter how I refresh. Do I need to worry that my C8 Pro radio might have an issue, or is this more likely to be a glitch in the current firmware?
Everything's working, but by nature I'm not inclined to ignore warnings.
I wouldn't base any big decisions on that channel scan -- I rarely got any hits on it, and I wouldn't trust much from it even if I did. I haven't looked at it in forever.
There are quite a few of us that've had issues with Ch 20 on the 8/8P hub vs earlier hub models, so I myself am pretty convinced that warning is just a loose advisory and isn't actually based on any hard evidence specific to your hub/environment, but who knows
FWIW, Ch 25 has been a win for me on 8/8P -- my only other ZB network (Hue) is on 15, so that leaves 20 open for the future (Thread or whatever else).
I am one of the ones with a C8P that has been on channel 20 with power level of 8 (default) with no issues. I get the warning as well though. It appears everyone gets the warning now. I was told it was for reference due to other people's issues but wasn't indicative of everyone's condition. I was told this by Hubitat. Said if it is working with no problems to not change or worry about it. Mine has worked fine the entire time so I leave it alone
