I just migrated from a C5 to a C8 Pro. The only issue I have seen so far is a Zigbee NYCE contact sensor that is stuck on open. I replaced the battery and it seems to communicate with the hub when the new battery is inserted (under last activity).
Should I try to exclude the device from the hub, do a factory reset, and then pair to the hub? Since it’s Zigbee, will the device just drop back into my rules, and not mess up my rules?

Don't exclude, that will mess up your rules. You can just factory reset the sensor and re-add it. The device will keep the existing IDs.

I would simply pair it again to the hub. It should drop back into where it was.

One doesn't exclude a Zigbee device. There's no such thing.
Wouldn't hurt to factory reset the device.
If I am correct NYCE devices are not compadable with the C8 and I think the C7. something about them not using a proper implementation of Zigbee
i know my two tilt sensors once they stopped working i could not get them to repair.
no my two motion work fine.. and i did repair one of my with the c8 when the battery died.

I have 2 NYCE motion sensors that work fine on my C-8.
if you migrated them over, they will stay working, but re-pairing might be an issue.
NYCE stuff works just dandy with the C8 and C7.... I love their 4-in-1 sensors especially. Have several.
You are incorrect. You might be thinking of Aqara or possibly Lowe’s Iris v1 devices.
