C8 new 800 series radio, some s2 auth. repairs not working ... rebooting devices fixed it

it appears that zwave repair on s2 devices does not work.. i tried 3 different devices and they all time out.. Even though the devices themself are working fine.. They seem to time after 3 minutes out finding neighbors..

@bobbyD

What's is S2: 4? Is that Authenticated and Unauthenticated? I decoded that bit mask before and posted but don't remember what that would be. What does it say in the zwave details for security?

one says s2 access control the other two not working say s2 authenticated.

i cannot test s2 unauthentifated the only 2 i have are battery devices.

Working fine for S2:1 and S2:3 for me. I dont have any that are both, which seems odd it would be joined as both anyway.

Thats another controller? Like a USB stick probably. I found for mine in order to get an updated zwave table I had to remove and re-join it. Not sure if the security keys for access control changed or what happened. Now that it is joined again though it works.

ring extender s2 authenticated worked.. could it be device specific that the 800 series does not like.. here are the info on the 3 that failed.. i posted one above.. the garage door controller
here is another

its not a controller its the latest gocontrol gdz zwave plus

Can you control or refresh the devices at all? Maybe they are having problems establishing a new route?

I would maybe just do a power down, pull power, reboot, and then let it chill for a little bit. See if that helps at all.

ya its device specific one of my homeseer multi with the light does not work 25 feet from the hub but the one in the basement much farther from the hub worked fine.. weird.. and as i said the ring also s2 auth. worked fine.

s2 auth. aeon repeater also worked fine.. just a few devices failing consitently..

the devices that fail work fine.. only tried as it has a couple of hops in the route which it shouldnt.. i posted the device above showing the zwave message working after the repair failed.. ie the garage door opens and closes fine... i will try power cycling it first. it has a remote outlet as it stopped working in the past and i had to reboot it. .. doing a exclude and repair would be a pain the A$$

ok rebooted the garage door opener.. and zwave repair worked fine.. so it was in some weird state even though it worked..

also repair went from 3 4 total hops to one intermediate. so much better

sorry for the false alarm.. will try rebooting the other devices that are not working

one of the others worked too after rebooting.. maybe they were hashing something about the controller no idea...
