C8 - Battery devices not showing neighbours after 36 hours

After more than 36 hours of migration all but one of my notification sensors only show one neighbour. They're working ok but that surely can't be correct can it? Whenever I've added a new one previously the number of neighbours has shown up within hours. Prior to migration all of the below notification sensors had double digit numbers of neighbours (the bi fold door lock in the table was always just 1 or 2)

I'm keeping an eye on the mesh details as so far the direct routes are the same but all RSSI values are far worse than they were on the (unmodified) C7 in the same location for all devices.

My experience was similar to yours. Prior to migration I had one device with only 1 neighbor. For the first couple of days I had more than half with 1 neighbor and gradually over the next few weeks they filled in. I still have maybe a half-dozen that are showing only one neighbor. In my case RSSI is pretty good and most of my devices are directly connected. but in some cases RTT dropped pretty dramatically. (BTW according to Bryan RTT is not valid for battery devices.) A few weeks out almost all of my devices are working fine though I still have three grumpy ones - two Ring gen 2 keypads and one Zooz relay. But others who did the migration have had no issues. I did notice post-migration a couple of Zooz motion sensors were just not right and rather than exclude them and re-include them I just chucked them and replaced them with Zigbee sensors. Keep an eye on battery life too. I had a couple Aeotec trisensors that were eating batteries for the first couple days. Seems to have calmed down now.

I suspect (though I have ZERO data to support this) that there are some devices in my mesh that just do not like the C8 and are causing issues. The Zooz are at the top of my suspect list though I think I am biased because of the longstanding issues with the Zooz 4-in-1 and others that tend to spam the network.

BTW I actually did the migration twice with two C8s just to eliminate a hardware issue on the C8. Same experience both times.

How are your FLIRs devices doing, if you have any?

Isn't everything Zooz makes Z-wave?

I think so... I replaced the Zooz motion sensors with ST zigbee motion sensors - always been my favorites!

Interesting :face_with_raised_eyebrow:- I noticed this morning my Aeotec contact flagged low battery thought it could be coincidence. I have no Flirs devices.

Could be. I think what was going on is while my mesh was rebuilding I was probably getting excessive retries and that killed the batteries. I didn't see anything in the z-wave logs though.

I've been trying to figure out how to get zniffer working to get some visibility to the inner workings of the Z-Wave but oh my what a beast that thing is. And honestly I'm not sure I would understand what I was seeing in any case.
