C7 to C8 Pro Migration - No Rules, No Devices in Dashboards

Hello -

I want thru all of the steps for the migration (per the docs here) and everything seemed to work fine with no errors or no "unknown" screens or responses. Got the new hub registered fine, etc. When I went to look at rules however, there were none. All of my devices seem to be there, but none of my devices are appearing under the dashboards which I had previously created, nore are there any rules in Rule Machine/Rule Machine Legacy. There may be more things missing, but these are the most glaring and show stopping. I've looked thru as much of the posts as I can, but It's past midnight and I may have missed something. Any help will be appreciated. Btw I performed all of the upgrades during the new hub initial bring-up. Based on my symptoms, does it sound like I've missed a step? I honestly don't think I did. Thanks!!

Make sure that both hubs are on the same platform version (this is a must)

On original hun, reboot with a database rebuild.

Do cloud backup for migration

Completely shutdown hub.

Bring up new hub. Do soft reset and upon reboot, restore with migration. After migration. Shut down hub and unplug power for one minute.

Note: Use the power supply that came with the c8 pro on the C8 pro

Unfortunately, I can't completely follow this. My old hub looses specifics around rules and stuff if I go above 2.3.5.152, and my new hub won't go below 2.3.7.146 (meaning, I can't get them both on the same version). Again, I can upgrade the old unit, but once I go above 2.3.5 I can't see any of my rules.

On the old hub do a soft reset with a restore. Download the current backup do your PC. go to yourhubip:8081 and do a soft reset. When the hub reboots, use your downloaded file for restore. This will clean your database. Then do the update. You won't be able to migrate the way you're trying without being closer.

Followed this step by step. I had all my devices and rules prior to the upgrade (to 2.3.9.177). Afterwards, nothing.

Downgraded back to 2.3.5.152 (without having to restore from a backup - just downgraded code) ... All my devices showed back up and my rules showed back up.

Is there a way for me to go to 2.3.6 next and not skip to 2.3.9? I don't know how to force those versions - I can't see em.

I'd like to try and go to 2.3.6, then 2.3.7, etc. I'm unable to find any method for downloading specific versions of code.

Are you absolutely positive there isn't some hidden character in the search box at the top of these pages? If there is a space (I.E. you hit the space bar) it can filter out everything without it being apparent. There have been requests to make this more apparent, but I don't think this has been addressed yet.

Here is what I see at first, but I will add spaces in the next couple screenshots. These are all about the same height and width for the captures, you can see the apps going away as I add spaces.

This is two spaces...

And 3 spaces...

Notice it doesn't say "Search" in the box in the second couple screenshots.

Great suggestion. I have no idea why antthing would be in the search field when the server just woke up from a code upgrade (and there would be no reason for me to search there) ... but that was it. I updated the C7 to 1.3.9.177 and everything was there. Doing the same (code upgrade) on the C8-Pro. and then I'll migrate again. That's a bug to me but don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's fixable... but I literally Just did a code upgrade so why would there be anything in that field (?). More to come...

Slight correction: My dashboards are still empty.

Thanks for all of the help/direction. Much appreciated. There's a slight difference between the two platforms/code sets.

Above, when I saw "No Devices" I assumed that my dashboards were empty and they weren't. I still need to understand functionally what adding the devices here does, but it didn't mean what I thought. Again, thanks for everything I feel like a migration expert now (I must have upgraded/downloaded, soft reset, around 20+ times!!!)
