I got a C7 hub from my dad who had an extra one. I was able to reset the IP address to be able to connect to the hub. However when I try to reset the hub in order to connect to my system, it gets stuck at 10% when initializing hub.
I have tried rebooting and the 'soft reset' option on the diagnostic page, but it does not initialize the hub.
It does ask about upgrading firmware (currently at 2.2.7.128) which, if I try to upgrade it doesn't succeed. If I say continue on 2.2.7.128 it goes to initializing hub but sticks at 10% as mentioned.
Is there anything that I can do to fix this? My dad did look in his hubitat account to see if there is a deauthorize option. But nothing other than his current hub.
Is there really no way to do a "full reset?" I don't care about loosing any info or setting since it's being migrated to my house and not my dad's.
In the diagnostics tool try using the "Download Current Firmware" (or something like that) button. It should grab current firmware.
After that use Restore Previous Version (can be used to update as well). Install the newly downloaded version from there.
Usually that will get you past a stuck update. Hopefully updating it will fix whatever issue it is having booting up.
I click download latest version.
Click update. 'success' is displayed.
Goes to another screen that says 'update failed, please try again.' and just sits there.
What version is the diagnostic tool? Should be displayed up top somewhere.
Could try this also but may not work if the normal UI is not coming up.
Go to YOUR.HUB.IP/hub/cloud/updateDiagnosticTool endpoint. If it's taking more than a few seconds, it's downloading an updated version, and it will take several minutes to finish .
in trying to go to [ip]/hub/cloud/updatediagnostictool it stil just get stuck on initializing hub. Its been on the same screen at the same percentage for over an hour.
No, a full reset is nothing more than Soft Reset + radio resets + de-registration in one step.
@user5382 sounds like your hub isn't connected to the cloud, thus can't download updates. Try going to the Diagnostic Tool and restore previous version, then make sure your hub can connect to the internet.
