Just donโt update to the latest until they release the latest fix. Had nothing but dns issues when I first updated.
Thanks. Hear they're dropping wireguard or something like that. The wireguard developer said they did "a horrible job"
They did a bad job of implementing Wireguard and got everyone in a tizzy.
Feelings are hurt. Users are switching to OPNSense. I have no dog in this fight.
Ya... wiregaurd is just one issue. People were complaining about DNS not working after a day too. They found a bug with DNS Resolver where it was crashing. I experienced this. I had to install a watchdog to restart it when it crashes as a work around.
They do have a new patch for this version that they are testing though.
After using pfSense for many years, I think I'm happier with the lower drama OPNsense.
What a hijack of a thread!
Oh well,
I've been thinking about putting pfsense. Maybe I'll just wait a while until things settle down....
Me too.. I bailed after they declared no future versions would run without AES-NI support. Based on what I was running I thought I had no choice at the time. Have been very happy with OPNsense through several hardware upgrades and network reconfigurations over the years.
edit: I'm not trying to knock pfSense as it is still a good fw but agree about not wanting/liking the drama.
Yup, pfSense worked great for me.
I do like the introspection I get with OPNsense + Sensei more than pfSense + pfBlocker though (makes it a lot more like the info I got out of Untangle). Granted Sensei is a paid service vs free pfBlocker - so not apples to apples.
Untangle is my other favorite, and still have a Home Pro license. But they have been ticking me off too with the license changes, features not available to Home users, etc.
So I'll park on OPNsense for now.
I'm looking for pfsense under the z-wave menu and cannot find it.
Am I looking in the right menu.
That's because HE switched to OPNSense...
(sorry about going offtopic!)
You're right. sorry for the OT ramblings.
Hopefully the latest HE update helps stabilizing some of the zwave issues reported.
(Just trying to get back on track.. lol)
It should be harder to create a ghost during inclusion now.. ![]()
That sounds like a challenge.
That's how I take it every time he says it.
That's one of the fun uses of a dev hub.
