From what I know, your repeaters don't have to be any particular security type (S0, S2), or any security at all, to act as a repeater for secure devices. I have never seen a non-secure repeater block a S0 device, for example.

Ring is decent too.. and it has a battery backup which can help detect a power outage - if your other stuff has power backups as well..
