C4 Device Unresponsive

Our C4 hub worked for over a year, and had a couple intermittent issues that were resolved by a soft reset and a hard power reset a few weeks later after it went unresponsive again. After some storms caused some power outages the hub stopped working in September.

I am not able to access it by the IP address or by the MAC address. I have tried plugging in different Ethernet cables, plugging it in directly to do the router, and confirming the power source is working. The external USB hard drive is showing a blue light.

Can you please give me some next steps on what else to try to get my device working again?

Does http://hubitat.local/ resolve to the hub?

Yeah I experienced similar some years ago.. I had 2 C4 hubs at the time. When the one died ended up replacing both just in case. Very similar symptoms.

I hope yours comes back but you might consider upgrading and taking advantage of the backup/transfer service (clarification: for future upgrades/transfers etc) as well. Not available for the C4 unfortunately.

It also tells me site can't be reached

Might be time to ask if @bobbyD sees it in the engineering logs, if it isn't reporting in it may have died.

Does your router assign an IP address to the MAC address of the C4? If it does not, the C4's ethernet port might have died in your last storm.

I can check to see if the hub is connecting to the cloud, but based on the details that @user3556 provided, it sounds like the hub dropped off the network, so chances are that engineering logs cannot be retrieved. @user3556 if you'd like me to check, please send me your hub's MAC address via private message.

That's my guess also, but always a slim chance that it's in the witness protection program :sunglasses:

Do you have a backup of the configuration? You could move the USB radio to a C5 unit if you have a config backup.
