C-8 Pro showing blue light

Hubitat C-8 platform 2.3.8.140 It just stopped communicating. It has a Blue light. It was having trouble turning lights on so I chose Reboot. It never came back up after that. I did a reset with a paperclip and the light goes off then turns green for a sec the blinks Red and green then turns solid blue and stays blue.

Blue light means the main platform is having a problem booting. Diagnostic tool should still be available. Use the diagnostic tool to download your backups (to be extra safe) and then do a soft reset. You can restore from a backup on the hub or you can upload one that you downloaded.

For future reference, pushing that button hidden on the bottom of the hub causes a network settings reset, followed by a hub reboot.

When the platform itself is having trouble loading (as evidenced by the blue light that never turns green), @jtp10181’s recommendation to browse to the hub’s diagnostic tool is generally the way to go.

Thank you guys for the help. I was confused because there aren't any activity lights for the Ethernet port. That's why I thought it was dead. I was able to use the diagnostics tool and did a soft reset. Then I loaded the most recent backup config. It's back to normal. Thanks again!

Glad it's solved. One thing you might consider is a Hub Protect subscription. A couple of things it will give you. In case of hardware failure it will give you a full hub replacement outside of the manufacturer warranty. Also it will give you cloud backups on top of your local back ups. One thing the cloud backups will do that the local backups will not is backing up both the z-wave and the zigbee radios. This allows you to replace your hub without re pairing all your devices.

Yep. That was the first thing I did when I bought my first C-7 model. I used it to migrate to the C-8 and it was awesome! Thanks!

Make sure you're C8 has a current sub if you didn't have it moved from the c7

You can transfer the hub protect subscription to your C8 if you're no longer using the C7, or don't have enough on it to want to worry about having a hub protect subscription.
