C-8 Hub not updating. Diagnostics tool not found

image
Brand new C8 hub, out of the box tried to update, and it seems to do so a few times but always ending up in failed to update status.

But this time it doesn't even get passed this screen anymore.

I tried to reboot and it took a long while for the hub to be reachable again - I thought I bricked it. But I got access to it again and still stuck on this screen.

I tried to go to the hub/cloud/updateDiagnosticTool page and i get error:
{

  "success": true,
  "message": "No update for diagnostics tool available."

}

I needed to get this hub up and running today. Please help

I don’t think that’s an error, it says the diagnostic tool is up to date.

Are you able to access the diagnostic tool?

Make sure your hub is currently connected to the cloud. The notification that an update is available could have been triggered when the hub was connected, but since then, if the hub is no longer connected, it will not be able to update. Also, the Diagnostic Tool that shipped with the hub doesn't need to be updated, as it's the latest.

ah yes, i'm able to access it via port 8081

Tried to download latest version, but i got this error

im quite sure the hub's online

Try pinging a FQDN instead of an IP address. My guess is that your hub has lost access to DNS servers.

That would be mine as well. Seems like your hub isn’t connecting to Hubitat’s servers in the cloud to download updated firmware.

Other possibilities might be a firewall policy that is blocking the connection?

you're right, RTO on FQDN
fixed the DNS and now it's working again. Whew!

You guys are awesome, thanks!
