I Realize there are many posts relating to this subject - but maybe I am 'stuck' not getting clarity.
Currently I have the C-8 with maybe going to 100 devices and the Hue Hub with about 45. C-8 UI is slower than I want so last week purchased the C-8 Pro. {From the 100, or so, Zigbee and Z-Wave Dimmers, Switches, Sensors (T&H, Contacts, Motion, Lux, etc)}.
From what I have gained so far is to:
- Put Lan/Cloud on One Hub (Pro) - Hue, Ecowitt, etc.
- Put Apps and Rules on One Hub (Pro)
- Put Z-wave on One Hub (C-8) - Turn off Z-wave Radio (Pro)
- Put Sensors on One Hub (C-8)

Comments appreciated.
Just migrate everything to the new hub, then see if itβs still slow before you do anything else.

I agree with putting everything on the C8 Pro and see. I have a C8 Pro and have 233 devices connected to it. 96 physical Zigbee devices, 7 physical Z-wave device, and the remaining are virtual devices, matter devices, matter devices from Aqara M2 Hub, and devices brought in from Home Assistant. I have no clue how many rules but there are a lot.
I still have around 1,200,000 memory left and my CPU usage routinely runs below .4 with very few spikes above.
The hub UI is snappy except for a couple things. Clicking on devices takes 2 seconds for them to load. When pairing zigbee devices the prepping network notification sometimes will stay up for 5 to 10 seconds before entering pairing mode. Not always. Sometimes maybe 1 or 2 seconds.
All other hub UI things are virtually instantaneous. All device activations are virtually instantaneous.
I believe the C8 Pro will more than take care of your needs.

Thanks both and Copy That. Will Advise.

OK - No Joy
Split C-8 to handle 3rd party drivers and 'sensors' and WiFi ; No Z-wave
Hue ~43 devices + rooms/zones ~55.
UI Response time too long > 2 sec.
?Ideas

I would suggest a weekly reboot. You can download the reboot app to do that.
I have around 200 devices including some virtual devices. I had them on a C-8 hub and found the UI to be a little slower than I wanted. I upgraded to the C-8 Pro. I moved everything to the Pro hub. Things are working fine.
I have connections to a Lutron bridge, Hue bridge, and both Z-wave and Zigbee devices. Things work well with the C-8 Pro hub alone.
I would suggest trying to use only one hub if possible. If that does not work, transfer your Hue bridge over to the old C-8 hub using hub mesh to connect the C-8 and C-8 Pro. The C-8 Pro can handle the 100 Zigbee and Z-wave devices with ease.
What part of the UI is taking longer than 2 seconds to respond?
On my C8 with 200+ devices, such things as sorting devices by column felt sluggish. I never timed the sort, but it might well have been longer than 2 seconds. Also scrolling up and down through the list felt sluggish.
After upgrading to the C8 Pro, the UI feels snappy and sorts take approximately 1 second. Since I am one wo likes fast CPUs (Intel i9- 14900KF and AMD Ryzn 9 9900x), upgrading to the C8-Pro with double the CPU speed and double the memory felt like a worthwhile upgrade.
Yeah, I know there are faster CPUs in both the Intel and AMD lineups, but I also look for optimal value (performance/$).
For those with fewer than 200 devices, the C8 might be fast enough. Since the C7 and C8 share similar CPUs and memory, even the C7 should be enough. I upgraded from the C7 to the C8 due to the external antennas. As I added more devices, I found the C8 sluggish and upgraded to the C8 Pro.
My apologies I thought you were saying the C8 Pro was sluggish. My bad
