So there is something strange afoot at the Circle-K.. in addition to my on/off/refresh issue I seem to be getting odd exclusions that I never purposefully did. Not sure if a device gets stuck in exclusion or there was a delayed reset when I included the switches or what but it's very strange. Also not limited to Zen switches also happened to an Aeotec 7 repeater.
In my travels with the C7, I experienced two occasions of random device exclusion. Both were when I was trying to exclude a different device. The first time, I was very busy, working on a bunch of things at the same time. I thought perhaps I was just crazy, imagining things, etc. Or perhaps the device that spontaneously excluded was. I factory reset the device and re-included it. End of story.
However, a few weeks later it happened again. This time, it was different. I was doing a slow and methodical network build. The device that spontaneously excluded was on the other end of the house from the device I was trying to exclude. This time, I went to the sniffer. The interesting thing was that device did not know that it had been excluded. When operated, it continued to hail with the Home and Node ID previously assigned. Again, factory reset and re-include.
Since then, I've tried several times to re-create it with my test hub. I've literally done dozens and dozens of excludes. Never seen it again.
That is very odd and sounds similar to my situation - some of the devices were very far away from the device I was trying to exclude. Will do the device reset thing an try again thanks.
I too thought I was going crazy (more so than usual).. especially when the repeater disappeared.
