C-7 with ProA7, ZWave issues

Hello all. I hope I can get some help in here.

I've got a C-7, and I'm connecting to a Honeywell ProA7Plus alarm panel which is the primary ZWave controller. I can't run it the other way around, the ProA7 can't add in as a secondary controller. The C-7 is running the latest firmware (2.3.7.146) and ZWave v7.18. I was able to add the C-7 to the ProA7 network using the learn mode, and the ProA7 sees the C-7 as node 0x19. It appears that although it is node 19 in the ProA7, in the C-7 ZWave list there are a Gateway node at 14 and virtual nodes at 15-18, but no 19 (these are not devices that are on site, and I didn't add them myself, and they don't appear on the ProA7). C-7 Zwave Topology shows most of the connections as blue where expected, with no connections to these virtual devices or that gateway. The Graph shows the C-7 only connected to itself, no other connections. None of the lights, locks, or valves from the ZWave network are showing in the C-7 Devices list, only the ZWave list. Running ZWave repair on the C-7 completes successfully except nodes 14-18. I have used the rebuild on reboot command, which didn't help. I've also run the ZWave mesh repair function from the ProA7, it doesn't give any status message other than complete, with no additional help available from the manufacturer.
I tried to add screenshots, but it says I can't embed media in a post. (Edit: thank you Evilborg for the instructions)

Go to Hubitat and add yourself to the owners group then you can upload.

You want your Hubitat hub to function as a secondary zwave controller? That is not a supported configuration.

It isn't? Why is the function (Learn Mode) to add it as a secondary controller available?

Interesting... apparently it can be a secondary controller but HE is not really built for it. Since those devices were included on the other system HE did not create devices for them.

You could try adding a virtual device and then change the DNI to the hex node number without the 0x prefix, so 0x07 would just be 07. Make sure you use the 2 char hex value and not the decimal.

You would need to manually set it to a driver that matches the device.

There is a slight chance this could actually let you control the device... may not work though.

As for the extra virtual nodes, Those are part of the 700+ z-wave, some sort of helper nodes I think for S2. I am guessing the Honeywell device had already claimed 2-5 so HE made more at the next available nodes.

Thank you.

I'm now trying to pick a driver, but I cannot find a matching product. I've tried a few that match the description, but aren't working. The first device (07) is a GE/Jasco based dimmer switch, which the ProA7 has listed as a product ID 13113 or Type 18756, but I don't see either of those as driver numbers in any of the GE/Jasco dimmer or switch lists if I try to manually add a device. I see there is forum and directions for custom drivers, but is there just a list of the built in drivers with their product ID? I can't search drivers by product ID, and the drop down doesn't have the product ID listed.

I converted those two values to hex, which leads me to this product: Z-Wave JS Config DB Browser

Use the GE Enbrighten Z-Wave Smart Dimmer per the compatibility list

GE/Jasco/UltraPro are all the same thing just re-branded.

Since these are not security items, why not just remove it from the alarm system and pair it to HE directly?

It's not working. I even tried setting the DNI to 0x07 and 007 just to try it. Tried rebooting as well as rebuilding the network again.

Lights aren't the only devices on the network. I also have a ZWave water valve which is intended to shut the water off when one of the flood sensors on the alarm system activated, as well as a ZWave deadbolt on which the codes from the alarm system are populated automatically. The only reason I needed the HE is because the alarm vendor dropped support for Google assistant actions after Google dropped support for continued conversations, and the lights could no longer be controlled from the Google ecosystem. They don't even have widgets for quick access to functions. The IFTTT triggers from the alarm vendor are also limited to armed status, burglar or fire alarm triggers, so no water sensor based actions. Having two separate ZWave networks with overlapping radio coverage seems far from ideal, but I guess it's my next step. Thank you for your help.

When you se the DNI on the device you will know if it attaches to the node by looking at the zwave details. But I am not sure if there is more to it so that commands will be sent out.

Also, since the alarm system is the primary controller, status updates will go to the alarm and not HE. So there other complications even if you do get the commands to work.

You will just have to pick which controller gives you the functionality you want and move things over. Even the leak sensors and water value could be moved, but I suppose if the alarm handles them the way you want they could just stay on there.

I'm now trying to get this thing reset, but all of the pertinent information for these things is hidden in these forums for whatever reason. The ZWave nodes from the primary controller remain in the ZWave mapping of the c-7, and I can't figure out how to remove them.

I don't have access to the Advanced tab in the diagnostics tool to do a full reset, there is no Reset ZWave available in the ZWave settings page, soft reset doesn't remove the orphaned nodes that were never really connected in the first place. Excluding the devices doesn't remove them from the list as they are hosted on a different controller (which I have already removed and reset).

I just want to factory reset this thing. How is that done?

The diagnostic tool was updated recently to add that advanced section, but it trickles down to the hubs automatically, sounds like yours did not update.

You can use this endpoint to force it to update (be patient it will spin for a while in the browser before giving you a status message).

http://HUB.IP/hub/cloud/updateDiagnosticTool

Once that is done you can do the full reset to get it back to factory fresh.
