I've got dimmers (Lutron Caseta devices) in two separate rooms assigned to the same motion lighting rules. The rules are only active between {Sunset -30} - Midnight, Midnight-{Sunrise -30}, {Sunrise -30} - {Sunrise +30}.
The motion lighting rules work fine.
Adjusting the level of either light from the physical switch works fine -- the lights dim independently.
I've also got a dashboard with separate tiles for each dimmer.
Adjusting light levels of either dimmer through the dashboard, during the day (when motion lighting rules should not be active) synchronizes both dimmers under some circumstances.
Here are a few examples, each instance starting with both dimmers off.
Timepoint Light A Light B Behavior
0 Off, @ x Off, dimmer @ y
1 dimmer to @ 75 A turns on @ 75, no effect on B
2 turned on @ 60 A synchronized to 60
3 lower to 50 no effect on B
Timepoint Light A Light B Behavior
0 Off, @ x Off, dimmer @ y
1 dimmer to @ 100 A turns on @ 100, no effct on B
2 turned on @ 100
3 lower to 50 B sync'ed to 50
4 raise to 75 no effect on B
5 lower to 40 no effect on B
6 lower to 20 no effect on A
Timepoint Light A Light B Behavior
0 Off, @ x Off, dimmer @ y
1 dimmer to @ 55 B synced -- turns on @ 55
Timepoint Light A Light B Behavior
0 Off, @ x Off, dimmer @ y
1 turned on @ 55 no effect on A
2 raised to 60 A sync'ed -- turns on @ 60
Timepoint Light A Light B Behavior
0 Off, @ 70 Off, dimmer @ 30
1 dimmer to 55 B synced -- turns on @ 55
Timepoint Light A Light B Behavior
0 Off, @ 70 Off, @ 30
1 dimmer to 25 A synced -- turns on @ 25
2 raise to 55 no effect on B
3 raise to 80 no effect on A
Turning either light on via the dashboard switch (the bulb icon) without changing the dimmer level has no effect on the other light.
Changing the Motion Lighting rules to specify only a single dimmer resolves the problem on the dashboard.
