Bluetooth question

I know someone should of asked this, but I did a search and didn't find anything or I'm searching the wrong key words.

I have my Logitech hub controlling my system which is controlled through Hubitat, but I upgraded to a wemax projector and it's ONLY bluetooth. I know the Logitech hub will not control it so I need something I can put into Hubitat and combine it somehow into Alexa. I've tried connecting it to Alexa, but it will not connect so I'm kind of stuck.

I just don't know what to look for or ask for.

I have a my Logitech hub connected to Hubitat which then connects to Alexa for Voice control. I need to add something to hubitat for Bluetooth so I can add it to Alexa and combine it. I want to say "Alexa turn of PC" and it powers off Onkyo and Projector.

I know its sounds confusing, but I just don't know what to ask for.

Thanks

The Harmony hub does support Bluetooth. Is it just the projector that is not compatible?

I heard that, but I can't see anywhere to add a bluetooth project in hubitat. And in Logitech bluetooth they allow you to add "Bluetooth Devices" like keyboards and mouses. I've tried everything in Logitech to be able to add bluetooth and it doesn't support "Bluetooth Remotes" its the bluetooth commands that are the issue from what I figured out.

2.** Find Your Device:

Locate the specific Logitech device (e.g., mouse, keyboard, headset) you want to control through Bluetooth within the Hub's device list.

Nothing about remote.

I had never done it I just remembered seeing it. I looked it up and I see now that it's predominately used for text entry. Not what you need. Sorry for the side tracking the thread.

There is probably a reason why but could you just put a smart plug on the projector and power cycle it that way? I do that with a couple of obscure devices in my system.

Yeah I thought about that, But the issue with Projectors is... When you power them off the fan stays running to cool them down for a min or so. If you just power it off doing that may damage something.

You can always delay the actual power off of the projector for 5 minutes or so. The logic would be pretty simple even taking into account someone turning the system back on before the delay times out. It might be a functionally cleaner approach.

Just throwing out ideas.

There is a thread in the Home Assistant forum that discusses how to do this with a CEC command when the projector is hooked to an Apple TV (doesn't seem to involve Home Assistant). You might read that thread starting here:

+1 for home assistant

I have a few rando devices that are BT or not HE capable - HA has a much more robust set of drivers and if you are or could run HA, then you can feedback on some level many of the devices thanks to the HA support written by a strong force here at HE. that would let you at least get basic responsiveness off HA connected BT devices.
