I'm a bit confused. If you have the ecobee in Home Assistant and homekit - isn't that local control already? Or do you mean control it from Hubitat rules/apps ? Or Both ?!?!
if it's just hubitat there is an Ecobee integration that might work.
If @kevin not done with thermostats then you'd have to wait. Virtual Thermostat won't help.
