BE469zp Schlage is not connecting with Hubitat

I am writing to seek your assistance with a recent issue I have been experiencing with my Schlage BE469zp lock. For several years, this lock had been working seamlessly with SmartThings until it recently stopped functioning after 8 years of use. As a replacement, I purchased a Hubitat, however, I am encountering difficulties resetting the BE469zp lock.

I have attempted several troubleshooting steps including replacing the batteries, performing a complete factory reset, and moving the Hubitat closer to the lock. Additionally, I have purchased an Aeotec device to address potential range issues, but it has not resolved the problem.

When attempting to enroll the lock, I have encountered a red cross on the keypad after reaching the recognition stage and being prompted for security preferences. I have tried this multiple times, and the un-enroll function works intermittently.

I am writing to seek your guidance and expertise to help me resolve this issue. I have already reached out to the community forum, and now turn to you for assistance before resorting to returning the Hubitat and reverting back to SmartThings.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards, SI

Itโ€™s possible that the incomplete pairings have created Z-Wave โ€œghostโ€ devices that are causing problems for your mesh. Could you please post a screenshot of your complete Z-Wave details page (Settings > Z-Wave Details)?

@user4559 Can you post a copy of your z-wave details page in its entirety. As @672southmain points out I think you may have some ghosts.

If that is the case, once they're removed, pair the lock within 2 feet of the hub. This is necessary because of the secure whisper mode some locks like Schlage use for encryption. (If prompted, you must pair with encryption on locks and garage door stuff. Other things should be left without encryption)

Things I have done to get my Schlage locks to enroll with Hubitat. First make sure you z-wave firmware is update on the Hubitat hub. Make sure you have no ghost nodes. Fresh reboot of Hubitat Hub. Move hub to lock or lock to hub. Within a few feet. New batteries in the lock. Get the lock to exclude from the hub reliably multiple time in a row. Once it is excluding reliably. Then an only then try to enroll it. If it fails. Check for ghosts. Remove the ghost. Reboot the hub and start the process all over.

I have several of these locks and when I added them they would fail unless the hub was less than a foot away. Suggest you move the hub so it is right next to the locks, then put hub into exclude mode and enter your pairing code at the lock to cause an exclude, then put hub into add device mode and enter the pairing code again.
