I am a recent ST convert and have been using Hubitat for about a month or so. I just tried today for the first time to use the @mike.maxwell Basic Z-Wave Tool driver to make a few parameter changes to an Aeon HEM v1 energy meter that had been recommended in another post.
I have been unable to get the driver to work. None of the Report buttons seem to work. Get Version Report, Get Parameter Report, Get Command Class Report. When I tried to use the Set Parameter button that did not work either.
I seen nothing in the logs when using it. Is there somewhere else I should be looking or is it broken . I am on C7 with the latest firmware 2.2.4.158
Are you sure your device is working (i.e., that it's on your mesh)? The fact that nothing is populated under "Current States" suggests that it might not be, as you'd likely have an energy reading or something by now if you had been using it with the original driver for some amount of time. If it's not working, the Basic Z-Wave Tool driver won't work, either--all of the "Get"s ask the device for something, and the "Set" sends a command, none of which the device will respond with or receive if not healthy.
you se the changes under logs not in the device in your picture..... Best is to have 2 windows beside each other with log in one and device in one ....
Not working for me either. Not an extensive test because the device I chose is battery and I have to time the clicks just right BUT.. Zniffer seems to indicate the device is responding correctly, yet Hubitat Logs are Empty.
Same on the C-3, after I managed to find a device still paired to it that actually has parameters. (Just in case it's only that part that's broken...)
I'm still wondering if the device was ever working for the OP, given the complete lack of "Current States" and the general chatty reputation of Aeon HEMs, making me think there should be something there already if it was ever in use with a "real" driver...
I tried a different device (powered, not battery) and yes, it's working. Both are S0 Joined so Zniffer is just going to show patterns of traffic and I am seeing the same pattern for the non-working.
It was definitely on the Mesh as it shows up in the Zwave Details. I was getting data with the correct device driver, just not consistently. Thought it was the device parameters as many others have had issues with the same driver. That is what lead me to try to change parameters
What is interesting, however, is that I just moved the device from the laundry room and Plugged it into a PC which is sitting next to the hub. Now all of a sudden I am seeing things in the log when I press buttons:
This is what I get when I press the 'Get Version Report' I clicked it three times consecutively and got the same error report.
So I guess now I am concerned that even when the Z-Wave details page says the device is okay, it still may not be 'okay enough' for lack of a better term, to get the data back and forth? What does everyone recommend in this instance. Kind of scary there is nothing out of the ordinary in the reports that would suggest a weak zwave link - weak enough where data cant get through. Or am I looking in the right place?
