In basic rules because it is set up to allow to turn on and off a device, please allow the app to send the push message to your phone the action of on or off. Have the message name the device and say “Device Name On” and then later “Device Name Off.”. Thank You
You can already do this with two Basic Rules, each triggered by the desired event; or one Basic Rule triggered by one event with the wait for the other. (If you want it to respond to the event and not just notify you that your rule sent the command, you'd need a separate Basic Rule for this from the ones that actually send the command--anything else is unlikely to be "Basic." A notification that you just sent the command is quite simple.)
I assume this is related to your other post regarding help with such a rule, and it would be best to keep all discussion there for everyone's ease. (For example, you can also use Rule Machine for more power, as mentioned there.)
If you are having problems creating these particular actions, sharing a screenshot or more description of your particular problem would be helpful.
That would be this thread.
And I agree there’s probably room for improvement in OP’s familiarity with the several Hubitat apps that can send notifications, rather than a need to add features to one of them.
Historically, requests for “can’t we add just one more feature to basic rules?” have been met with skepticism by staff, because some apps are meant to have a deliberately simple interface to create automations, even though that can limit the flexibility of that app.
As I mentioned in the other thread, anything that isn’t actually accomplishable in basic rules can generally be done in rule machine, which is intended to be exceedingly flexible (but more complex to use).
