Looking for ideas and help with setting up a way to control HSM Away.
Away currently works with presence detected when leaving and returning.
But sometimes I need to leave my dog at home and if I do that an Intrusion is triggered.
So I added a new Mode, Dog Home Alone and manually set to that mode.
When I left, Away was automatically set by presence and motion tripped and Intrusion set.
Is there a way to have to different Away setting, one with motion ignored and one with motion.
I'm not a programmer but I do enjoy tinkering with the Hubitat.
What I would do is setup a virtual presence sensor (presence with switch would be ideal) for your dog. Then you can turn it on manually when your dog is there and you will be leaving. To avoid leaving it on, you could have it automatically turn off when you arrive home.
This Virtual presence sensor can be added to those that trigger “Away”.
Ok, I loaded a Virtual Presence Switch Device and was looking for some way for it to ignore motion sensors. So I went with a Conditional If Then and found the sensors but haven't found a way to get them ignored. I'm missing something here and probably went down the wrong path, but I'm still trying. Never done this before, Please throw me a bone :>)
Maybe use Armed Home in those cases?
Yeah, I agree . Yesterday I set up an additional Mode tied to HOME that doesn't include those 3 motion sensors. I was thinking that there would be some confusion when I left the property and traveled outside my geofence and my presence detection was lost, figuring it would jump to AWAY-ARMED with all motion sensors active.
That was not the case though, as I simply put it in Home-Armed and then turned off the wifi on my phone and the mode stayed Home-Armed.
Is this the most efficient way to meet my goals, I don't know, but appreciate the input and ideas.

Well, that last set-up didn't work as I went to testing, turning off wifi on my phone didn't trigger the mode change I was expecting, so I was thinking all was good. Checked my presence, and it displayed as Present. So I shut off my phone. Presence still indicated I was Home. So I went into device and manually set my Presence to Departed and you guessed it, the Mode changed to Away-Armed with all motion sensors back to active.
Anybody got some ideas or solutions, it would be much appreciated.
