Currently using Mode Manager App. I will sometimes manually (via Dashboard) put my Mode into Away Mode. I may leave it in Away Mode for a few days or weeks. I just discovered that when your Hub reboots, it uses the current time to select the appropriate Mode to go into, even if it was in Away Mode when it rebooted. However, if I put my Hub in Away Mode, I want it to remain in Away Mode even if the Hub Reboots. I want it to remain in Away Mode until I manually (via Dashboard) select some other mode to take it away from Away Mode. Is there a way to do this?
Do you have the "Skip" option checked for Away mode? (This is an option in the table in the current built-in Mode Manager app, but there was something similar in Legacy Mode Manager; and the integrated mode manager from Settings might have something similar, but I haven't tried -- so sharing more information about your configuration may help if this doesn't.)
if you dont use mode manager based on time it will not swith modes when rebooted.
i dont use mode manager.
i use my own rules to switch modes.
ie when in home mode and the house quiets down after midnight i switch to night. (note if in away mode this doesnt happen)
same to switch to home when motion after a certian time in morning. (again if not in away mode).
when both cars leave the house i auto switch to away mode and switch back to home when a garage door opens or a door is unlocked.
other than that i switch to away manually with a dashboard when going away with cars still in the garage.
Even if you do use Mode Manager, it also won't do this if the option isn't enabled -- it's an optional feature.
(I didn't mention this above but assume the OP has a reason for using it. I don't myself and will accept that the mode may be "wrong" if I reboot the hub or otherwise have it offline at a time when I'm expecting a change.)
Where is this option?
At the bottom of the page when you open mode manager.
I seem to vaguely remember some option at the bottom of the page but it is not there anymore. On either the Mode App or the Built-in Mode manager.
Checking the "skip" for Away Mode in the Mode Manager App. solves the problem. Thank you for your help.
