Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I have a project I want to create/run and I am looking for some feedback and ideas form the community.
A friend of mine has a new pool house he is building, in one area there will be a small bar section for people to sit at, it will have a panel that can be opened up like you see in the photo below:
We thought a cool idea would be to automate that swing out panel and also add voice commands to it.
So, you could hit a switch inside the bar space and the panel swing open, but by using some type of zwave switch it could also be controlled by phone/hubitat dashboard. And we could add voice commands.
Say " Alexa, turn on party mode"
The panel opens up, we plan to put led lights on the back of it so when it is horizontal the lights are above your head and can turn on, hes goign to have an outdoor TV as well that we could maybe trigger in some fashion, and he went with Sonos so we want to start some audio/playlist as well.
I know we will need a 12v DC linear actuator to run the panel, we are looking to do an aluminum frame and the center will be a veneer wood so that it is lighter than just straight plywood.
But to control the actuator and run the system through hubitat we need a wave setup to open and close the panel, etc.
Thoughts?
