Automating wooden blinds

Does anyone know of device suggestions that work with HE to be able to control the slat rotation and up/down position for blinds like these? The cords are not a full loop, so a motor mounted on the window sash will not work. I'm assuming it has to be something battery powered that goes inside the mechanical housing of the blind (removing the valance, then taking down the blinds and opening up the mechanism).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Have you checked with your blind mfg?

Iblinds makes some retrofit kits.

You can also DIY a rotation solution for about $20 per blind. Requires a servo, nodemcu and Hubduino and some basic electronics skill.

Up/down is difficult due to the weight of the blinds

iBlinds work great for these type of blind. Not cheap but they have a lot of sales.

I have 5 iBlinds for these. v3.1+ works great.

I did a similar DIY solution with plastic mini blinds and it works well. Under your list of materials I would throw in a 3d printer, which was invaluable to create an enclosure as well as a shaft adapter between the stepper motor and the rod in the blind header that controls the tilt.

Agreed (and 3DP need for coupler) but I didn't want to throw too much at OP until he indicated which direction he was leaning DIY /commercial.

I did the DIY route as I had everything necessary. Was actually my second automation.

I ended up buying the iBlinds and enjoy how they're working. Thank you all.
