Hey everyone! I can't seem to figure this out or find any info on it. Is there any way to make a rule to initialize my Google Nest Mini speakers on a schedule?
I use them for TTS, and occasionally they stop working. And I've found that if I go in and click Initialize on them in Devices, they work again for a random amount of time. So if there is a way to have Hubitat do that for me, maybe every 2-3 days, or weekly, that'd be fantastic! Thanks!
There was a Community "helper" app at one point, not sure if it's still around.
If you want to do it in RM, setup a time-based trigger and in the actions you want to run a custom command, i.e. the initialize command.
Unfortunately I'm not seeing the Custom Commands option.
It doesn't necessarily need to be in RM, just whatever is easiest would be great.
Wow.... I feel dumb. I found Custom Action now, but no option for Initialize.
It will likely be a result of the capability you select. Try either Actuator or Speech Device.
Yes, you can easily do this:
Trigger: periodic schedule
Action: Custom action > speech devices > "your nest mini" > initialize
