ASUS RT - AX92U Mesh routers

This is router q ...but in relationship to a C8-Pro with the latest OS.

Does anyone have these as their home routers? They are in a wired mesh.

I'm having LAN to LAN devices become un-pingable on the local LAN intermittently. From the router pings never fail. I have every protection app turned off but the firewall.

I replaced them with a cheap TP Link router and the problem cleared.

It acts very much like some of the intelligence that protects from common device attacks to block an infected device from accessing other local hosts doesn't really stop when you turn off the app that does that.

This problem was driving my hub's CPU through the roof.

Lots of us have Asus routers. I only have a single AX68U, have not noticed any issues. I am sure others have them setup in Mesh.

If you want to totally make sure none of he trend micro stuff is running on the router you can go into the privacy settings and revoke agreement to the TOS, that will shut it all off and prevent it from running unless you agree to the TOS again. I think that can impact the QoS and bandwidth monitors if you use those at all.

I’ll boot them again and recheck but I tend to never agree to anything :blush:

While generally, I tend to be a perfectionist. I’ve never had a reason.to drive me to tweaking traffic.

I’ve seen this issue on a couple blogs for this series of ASUA routers.

I have a different issue with my ASUS AiMesh. When I try to connect my phone to the guest 2.4 GHz network, it kills that network for a period of time. I use the guest networks for my IoT things. I have 3 networks:

  • Guest 2.4 GHz
  • Guest 5 GHz
  • Primary 2.4/5 GHz
