Asus Router Question

My Asus WiFi router RT-AC86U can block intra LAN connections but that is settable. I dont.

Also even if you dont specifically block if the different nets are on a different ip block u will need a static route to reach each.othet.

No idea what the difference is.… All totally disabled… Over and over and over again, believe me. :grinning:

Standard for routers. Static because it does not have a built-in routing protocol. Not even RIP.

I went ahead and upgraded to this router (link in the initial
Post). Other than some initial issues getting it online and swapping it for the top spot on my account and network, it has been flawless. I’m finally getting the speed I’m paying for (more actually with Spectrum). I’m not having any issues with the Wi-Fi cutting out randomly, and no issues with device-to-device communications (not yet using the IoT network but do plan to set that up. Longer term I will be upgrading to Ubiquity, but to do that now would have necessitated two routers and or access points and double cost, not to mention my OCD would have pushed me to then rush changing out my switches and fast tracking the rest of that project, and that just isn’t possible right now, so this was a good compromise.

I have not seen any issue with the router blocking communication between devices on the same Lan. I do see an option that looks like that, but it was disabled by default.
