I'm just starting to try the easy dashboards so maybe I'm missing something. Does every device needs it's own layout defined for the same dashboard? For example, I created a new dashboard on my desktop browser and layed out the tiles how I wanted them. When I open the same dashboard on the iPad app the layout is gone. Similarly when I open the same dashboard on an android phone app, the layout is gone. Is it supposed to work like that?
It is that way by default, but it can be customized by changing the layout options in your dashboard. Unlock the dashboard if it's locked (lock icon towards the bottom right; it should be green/unlocked), then select the "Edit dashboard settings" icon (gear icon towards the bottom left), and you'll get various options:

Just to follow up (maybe clarify) this excellent advice, I believe each layout is remembered. So you won't mess up your desktop layout if you change it for your tablet. Each layout will be remembered for the device it was set up on.
