I am having issues with the Mi Connector where my Aqara door and windows sensors do not register when they are closed. If I look at the status in the Mi Home app its correct but Hubitat shows it as being still open. Anyone else had this or got any tips?
Hubitat is probably just not polling often enough. You could set that more frequent but I am never keen on overworking the hub. There is probably a frequency that is a happy medium. I tend to as far as possible have sensors directly paired to Hubitat, which isn't really possible with Aqara in my experience.
Aqara can work well if you are extra careful about what other devices (basically repeaters) are used. Pretty much 80% of what I use are xiaomi/aqara due to cost and availability on our side of the world.
@ifflanb I would try pairing a few directly using @chirpy's drivers to see how you get on. Also unless you really need to have them show on your mi home app I would recommend pairing directly with HE, or use zigbee2mqtt which works flawlessly with most xiaomi gear.
Agreed. With the caveat that a stable mesh still needs Xiaomi-compatible repeaters. Fortunately, I haven't found a zigbee 3.0 device that doesn't work well as repeater for Mijia/Aqara devices.
My mesh was offline for about a week recently (power loss after a storm), and all my Mijia/Aqara sensors connected back by themselves within about 24-36 hours .....
Thanks. I used to have my xiaomi devices paired directly to HE bUt they would drop off. That's why I moved to using the mi connector which works pretty well. It's just the aqara door sensors that are having an issue. Havent heard of zigbee2mqtt but sounds interesting.
